Essential information when troubleshooting refrigeration systems
Sight glass
Vapour bubbles in sight glass ahead of thermostatic expansion valve
Condensing pressure too low.
Receiver stop valve too small or not fully open.
Hydrostatic pressure drop in liquid line too high (height difference between thermostatic expansion valve and receiver too large).
Badly or incorrectly set condensing pressure regulation causing liquid collection in condenser.
Condenser pressure regulation by start/stop of condenser fan can cause vapour in liquid line for some time after fan start.
Insufficient liquid in system.
Insufficient liquid subcooling
Insufficient liquid subcooling, water-cooled condenser
