  Essential information when troubleshooting refrigeration systems

Vapour bubbles in sight glass ahead of thermostatic expansion valve

• Condensing pressure too low.
• Receiver stop valve too small or not fully open.
• Hydrostatic pressure drop in liquid line too high (height difference between thermostatic expansion valve and receiver too large).
• Badly or incorrectly set condensing pressure regulation causing liquid collection in condenser.
• Condenser pressure regulation by start/stop of condenser fan can cause vapour in liquid line for some time after fan start.
• Insufficient liquid in system.
• Insufficient liquid subcooling
• Insufficient liquid subcooling, water-cooled condenser
